#education
Good education is necessary for people to acquire knowledge and skill. A sizeable portion of our income is spent on our Children’s education; graduates lap up high-paying jobs in different cities to pay off their education loan and hold on to them to afford good education for their children.
So, to bring down the costs we first need to spend. To spend, we take a loan. To pay off that loan, we raise the cost of our services and spend further to cope up in a costly society thereby not bringing down the cost.
How would it be if timeless education was made price-less?
My son studies in one such institution where education is given as charity – VIDYADAANAM.
DHARMA GURUKULAM in Iyvarmalai, Pazhani was established in 2021. The founding Gurus Siddhayogi Shrimaan Adinarayanan and his wife Matrushree Smriti Rekha quit their plum jobs in the U.S. to find fulfilment by teaching youngsters in India. They have taught and continue to teach in IIT, Delhi and Amrita Vishwa Vidya Peetham, Kerala. Their thirst to refine the current education scenario made them start a Gurukulam (residential school) in Pazhani where Indic knowledge is imparted through Guru-sishya tradition. Modern education is taught in accordance with the NIOS (homeschooling) board and Indic literature through Indian Knowledge System – IKS.
The Acharyas (teachers) are disciples of Shrimaan and Matrushree who are alumni of various IITs, NID and Amrita VVP, devoted to the cause of their gurus. My son and his fellows learn to live with frugal means, eat sattvic food and are totally off gadgets (this alone makes a world of difference). They enthusiastically speak of Ayurveda and astronomy and explain how it is related to our daily lives. Students here are encouraged to study and give exams according to their capability and speed. Two of the senior students have secured admission & scholarship for the online degree courses offered by IIT, Madras.
With the financial load off our shoulders, we parents are emboldened to spend our time and energy to volunteer in various charitable organizations and offer monetary contributions. I strongly feel that this is intense social reform, and I can’t stop talking about it.
I encourage you all to check them out – on the net and in person, if possible, make use of their online programmes and courses, volunteer in their campus, contribute in whichever way and maybe put your child there. Click the link to know more https://www.anaadi.org/gurukulam/iks
